The Zimbabwe Electricity Industry Pension Fund is a self-administered defined contribution pension plan, established under the Pension and Provident Funds Act (Chapter 24:32). Its main goal is to provide retirement and death benefits to current and former employees of companies in the electricity industry and their dependents. The Fund's registered office is located at Megawatt House, 44 Samora Machel Avenue, Harare.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Zimbabwe Electricity Industry Pension Fund is a self administered Pension Fund as defined in the Pension and Provident Funds Act. The Fund was established in January 2004.

ZEIPF is administered by a Board of Trustees appointed by the employees selected by an election process, approved by IPEC. The Board of Trustees is made up of employee and employer-selected representatives.

The primary objective of the Fund is to ensure financial security for its members upon retirement. As retired individuals are no longer able to earn a regular income, it becomes essential to allocate funds during their active employment years to support them post-retirement. In fulfilling this role, the Zimbabwe Electricity Industry Pension Fund (ZEIPF) is dedicated to safeguarding the future well-being of its members by providing a stable source of retirement income.

All permanent employees of the Employers under the age of 60 years and employed in the Electricity Industry.
